Pata Rât is a gypsy community a few kilometers outside the city of Cluj. About 750 people lives here.
They literally live in the landfill, where they live in simple shacks without water, electricity or heat, and they live here both summer and winter.
They earn their living from selling the metal and the plastic they can find in dumps, and many of the women earn money through prostitution. Poverty is deep and there are huge social problems among these people.
NTC works with a local organization to provide assistance, and has more than once donated clothes, blankets, hygiene items, cups and plates etc.
The local organization has set up a small center, where a doctor periodically comes and offers free consultation and the center is also used for church services.
They teach the people about hygiene, cook meals for the children and from give out clothes, etc.
For Christmas shared that lunch boxes out to all families in the area.
